Inner Stillness with Sound and Clay Tuesday, August 25, 2026 6:00 – 8:00 pm Penn Forest Natural Burial Park, 121 Colorado St, Verona, PA

Facilitators: Stephanie Flom, ceramic artist and Katie DeFiglio, sound artist

Immerse yourself in the beautiful setting of Penn Forest Natural Burial Park, where breath by breath and pinch by pinch, you will be guided in creating small intentional ceramic pinch pots to the soothing vibrations of crystal bowls and the sounds of the forest.

Each session will include guided sitting meditation in the open-air Meditation Hut, walking meditation on the nearby woodland trail, hand-building silently with clay—either on the pavilion platform or in the woods. We’ll close each session with the deep calm of a Crystal Bowl sound bath.

Bring a yoga mat for the Sound Bath. Chairs and cushions will be provided as sitting options as you sit and create.

Participate in one, two or all three monthly (June, July, and August) sessions. All ceramic work will be bisque fired and available for pick up after September 8, 2026 at Penn Forest Natural Burial Park during business hours.

Katie DeFiglio is the founder of Vibrant Sound Joy: www.vibrantsoundjoy.com, where she creates experiences that inspire connection, wellness, and joy through voice and sound. With years of experience as a performer and educator, Katie brings a warm and welcoming approach to her work as a sound practitioner, singer, and voice teacher. She is an ISTA Certified Therapeutic Sound Practitioner, Advanced Reiki Practitioner, and holds a Doctorate of Musical Arts in Voice Pedagogy.

Stephanie Flom is an artist whose work centers on the myths and stories that connect humans to Earth and the more-than-human world. She has exhibited installations and performative work, often involving ceramics, in art venues throughout Pittsburgh and has been a teaching artist through the PA Council on the Arts, sharing her meditative approach to pinching clay in school and community settings. She is currently involved in a knotweed remediation exploration near her home in Polish Hill.
